Pterinochilus Murinus, also known by the common name "Orange Baboon Tarantula," is a tarantula characterized by unpredictable behavior and rapid, sudden movements, often displayed during times of stress or while feeding. Handling this spider is strongly discouraged; it is a species best suited for experienced keepers rather than beginners.

SIZE: M - about 3,5/4cm, it can reach up to 12 cm 

SEX: Not sexed

FOUND IN: Angola, Tanzania, Kenya

ENVIRONMENTAL VALUES: temperature between 26-28 degrees Celsius during the day and 20-22 degrees Celsius at night, humidity must be around 50 to 60%

DIET: Medium-sized insects (crickets, roaches, worms)

SETUP: Terrarium or faunabox 40x40x40, with a substrate layer of approximately 10 cm (peat or coconut fiber); it is recommended to include a water dish to ensure proper hydration for the tarantula, as well as a natural or artificial shelter where the animal can retreat and rest.

HABITS: terricular and arboreal, varying according to the terrarium setup, also is a rather shy migale

BEHAVIOR: 8 – high, very fast in movement and very aggressive, not recommended for newbies

GROWTH RATE: very high as it is quite voracious and I reach sexual maturity within about 2 years, depending on sex

LIFESPAN: In captivity, females of this species can live up to 14 years, reaching sexual maturity in about 2 to 3 years.
