DIMENSIONS: Size M – 6 cm. legspan included, reaches from adult the 17 cm max legspan included
ORIGINE: Different areas of West Africa
AMBIENTAMENT VALUES: temperature 26-27 degrees Celsius during the day, 20-24 degrees Celsius overnight humidity 60/70% with optimal ventilation, as this species comes from mountainous areas, with average temperatures
ALIMENTATION: size-appropriate insects (grills, cockroaches, worms, locusts) medium size isopods
TIP SET UP: terrarium or faunabox 30x30x45 or even taller, substrate 5 cm peat and/or coconut fiber, along with tropical plants, and a natural or artificial shelter, preferably in cork. Daily sprays to keep moisture constant and promote further hydration from the foliage. Important laminar air flow, to obtain a very important ventilation for this tarantula. There is no need for high humidity as described above, so by doing some tests, you get the moisture necessary for proper maintenance, to be increased slightly in the mute and/or pressed phases.
ABITUDINI: arachnid purely arboreal, very rapid in movements
AGGRESSIVITA: 8 – high, is very much defensive, even more so than the tarantulas of the genus Poecilotheria and, if provoked, can bite. It is not recommended for novice breeders
GROWTH RAPIDITY: high, with a longevity of 5 to 8 years
STATUS CITES: no
CLINICAL/TOXICOLOGICAL INFO: WCH UNIVERSITY ADELAIDE; AUSTRALIA
