The Sphodros abboti is a spider of the forests of Georgia (USA), which creates a dense web of cobwebs on rocky walls and shrubs, with which it captures its preys; easy to manage, requires spacious terrariums
SIZE: SM-about 3cm; it can be kept on dimensions not exceeding 9/10 cm as an adult (legspan included).
ORIGIN: Restricted area of Georgia, in wooded areas

FEEDING: small sized insects for scorpling, and, from size M, feeding insects (crickets, cockroaches, worms, locusts) of adequate size are good. Medium-sized isopods;
RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT: large terrarium, starting from 25x25x45 cm. The height and width are essential to replicate in nature the typical environment of this spider (rocky walls with shrubs), where it creates its web. The substrate should be at least 7 cm high with coccus fiber in the upper part and 40% vermiculite, together with plants from a temperate climate; insert a natural or artificial shelter where it will hole up during the day or to consume the prey, developed in height to favor the vertical movement of the animal. Nebulizations are necessary every two days for a minimum of internal humidity, being however a spider of temperate wooded areas.
HABITS: nocturnal arachnid, creates a dense network of cobwebs with which it captures prey with lightning-fast shots.
