Phidippus regius "Bahamas" is a highly colorful jumping spider from Florida; it is quite docile and hunts primarily small flying insects.

SIZE: S/M About 1,5cm

SEX: Not sexed

FOUND IN: Florida

ENVIRONMENTAL VALUES: temperature between 24-26 degrees Celsius during the day and 20-22 degrees Celsius at night, humidity must be around 50 to 60%

DIET: Small and very active insects (crickets, cockroaches, fruit flies), we recommend maintaining a varied diet

SETUP: 20x20x25 cm (h) terrarium with a 3–4 cm substrate layer of peat or coconut fiber; provide occasional misting to ensure adequate hydration, as well as a natural or artificial shelter where the animal can retreat. It requires optimal ventilation and thrives in natural light—but NOT direct sunlight.

HABITS: primarily arboreal, with occasional—albeit rare—tendencies toward more terrestrial behavior sometimes

BEHAVIOR: Extremely docile and very easy to care for — especially for a beginner — despite the brief jumps it may occasionally make in certain situations.

GROWTH RATE: high as it's quite voracious

LIFESPAN: In captivity, this spider can live up to 2 or 3 years.
