Anthia Sexmaculata is a predatory beetle native to North Africa, rarely found on the market; it is easy to care for and similar to other predatory insects from arid environments, such as *Platymeris horridum* or *Platymeris biguttatus*
SIZE: About 3 to 4 cm
FOUND IN: North Africa (Tunisia, Egypt) and Red Sea
ENVIRONMENTAL VALUES: Temperature between 26 and 28°C during the day and between 22 and 24°C at night; humidity should be around 40% to 50%
DIET: insects of any type that fit within the size of its mandibles
SETUP: terrarium/ faunabox 20x20x20 or braplast 3lt; provide a 5 cm substrate of mixed peat and sand, along with hides made of cork bark and stones. It is also recommended to provide a water dish so the insect can hydrate as needed.
HABITS: A terrestrial species typical of desert and arid environments.
BEHAVIOR: A ground beetle suitable for beginners, although attempting to handle this species is strongly discouraged, as it is capable of inflicting rather painful bites.
GROWTH RATE: Medium to high
LIFESPAN: In captivity, this species can live up to 4–5 years, with some individuals reaching 7 years of age.
