Maranta leuconeura is a plant from the tropical forests of Central America, also called the prayer plant, due to its folding of the leaves as if they were hands! Easy to manage, very colorful and suitable for tropical terrariums
It is a plant that needs high humidity and not direct sunlight as it loves shady areas; in nature it is found in Central America, in particular in tropical forests
In the apartment it provides a magnificent aesthetic effect, thanks to the bright and round green leaves, with veins of various colors; one of the peculiar characteristics is its "environmental adaptation"; according to the climatic conditions, it tends to fold the leaves on itself almost as if they were hands in prayer, hence the nickname "prayer plant"
In terrariums, it is used for tropical or subtropical settings, while remaining small, suitable for installations that require particularly robust plants at high temperatures and high humidity, providing shelter to various reptiles, amphibians and exotic insects.
We recommend a management temperature between 20/25 ° C ° and humidity of 80/90% in the terrarium; in the apartment, standard temperatures of any home are fine, avoiding temperatures below 15 ° C
