The Pterinochilus murinus UMV is a particular morph of P.murinus, present in South Africa and in the Usambara area, has a nervous character but is still easy to breed, feeding on insects

DIMENSIONS: M-2,5 cm excluding legspan; when adult it reaches about 6/7 cm (legspan excluded)

ORIGIN: South Africa, Usambara mountains

AMBIENT VALUES: temperature 27 ° -28 ° C daytime, 22-23 ° C nighttime humidity 70-80%

FEEDING: insects of small size for spiderlings, and, from size M, meal insects (crickets, cockroaches, worms, locusts) of adequate size are good. Medium-sized isopods; In particular, crickets and locusts are indicated as they are highly protein.

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT: small terrarium or faunabox, starting from 30x30x35 / 40 cm. The substrate should be at least 10/15 cm high peat and mixed coconut fiber, together with tropical plants, a natural or artificial refuge where it will burrow during the day or to consume its prey. Mists are required twice a week to maintain internal humidity while still maintaining adequate ventilation and providing an adequate source of hydration for the animal

HABITS: fossorial arachnid, semi-arboreal as it loves to dig into the substrate and find areas where to create various cobwebs

AGGRESSIVITY: 7 - aggressive, assumes the classic defensive posture if it feels threatened and can provide a decidedly strong bite, compared to other varieties of P. murinus

RAPID GROWTH: n.d.
