Vriesea carinata is an epiphytic bromeliad with sword-shaped leaves, native to Southeast Brazil. An important feature is the resistance of this plant to climatic variations and small dimensions

It is a plant that needs high humidity and a bright but not direct sun exposure. The leaves can reach 25 cm in height and does not require special care, in addition to the colored foliage with light green and cream reflections

In the apartment it provides a magnificent aesthetic effect in pots, with constant humidity maintenance and moist but well-draining soil rich in organic substance (universal fertilizer is fine) and shaded position

In terrariums, it is used for tropical settings, while remaining medium in size due to slow growth, suitable for installations that require particularly robust plants at high temperatures and high humidity. Particularly suitable for terrariums with Dendrobatids and the like, which will appreciate the width of the leaves and the numerous natural ravines

We recommend a management temperature between 25/26 ° C ° and humidity of 80/90% in the terrarium; in the apartment, standard temperatures of any home are fine, avoiding temperatures below 15 ° C
